We know that we use words to explain Biomat® technology that many of us don’t think about every day. This page is a quick reference. Please reach out to us if you have any further questions.
Far Infrared – Far infrared energy is very common. It is the invisible gently warming property of light. On the light spectrum, it can be observed to the right of visible red. More scientifically speaking it is that portion of the electromagnetic spectrum with wavelengths between 730 and 1000 nm.
Negative Ion – Negative ions are atoms or groups of atoms that have more electrons than protons. This produces a net negative electrical charge. Negative ions are released by natural occurrences like water being heated or water molecules colliding with other water molecules. Negative ions are also emitted by natural materials like crystal and stone. Many health and wellness professionals believe negative ions to have health benefits. Check out our Negative Ions page. Biomat® technology uses tourmaline and amethyst to emit negative ions.
EMF or Electromagnetic Field – Electromagnetic fields are invisible physical fields created by two different types of charges – an electrical charge and a magnetic charge. Combined and interacting with each other electrical charges and magnetic charges make the electromagnetic field. The electromagnetic field produces forces on individual electrical charges. The human body is full of electrical charges created by chemical reactions (think nerve signals). This is why the EMF protection designed into the Biomat® technology is important.
Amethyst – Amethyst is a variety of semi-precious quartz. It can be found in many locations worldwide. It is hexagonal in shape. It is known to emit negative ions when exposed to an electrical charge.
Tourmaline – Tourmaline comes in a wide variety of colors including black, purple, red, light blue, pink, or green. Traditional Chinese medicine considers tourmaline a source of chi or life force energy. It is known by many to be the “electric stone” as it is the highest electrical charge of any of the crystals.
Quantum Energy – Quantum is defined as the smallest possible amount of physical energy. The human body is made up of even millions of quantum sized electrical charges created by tiny molecule-sized chemical reactions. Biomat® products and technologies interact with the barely perceivable subtle body energetic anatomy sometimes referred to as our quantum-state existence. The energies of far infrared and negative ion interact with energy on the quantum sized level.
